About Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Corporate Action Policy --- About the Future of the Company
The SDGs appear to be forcing companies to make major policy changes. If we follow the SDGs, we must review mass production and mass consumption, refrain from development that has a large impact on the environment, and refrain from businesses that engage in fierce competition in the pursuit of profits or widen inequality. However, businesses should pursue profits. If you can't pursue profits with the way you've been doing it, you have to change the way you do it. So how should companies think and act in the future?
People have to get along from now on. This is not the time to compete, drag each other, and argue. We have to make up our minds that from now on we will live by helping each other and that we will never increase the number of conflicts. The same is true for companies, and instead of increasing conflicts, we must be prepared to get along and help each other both inside and outside the company.
In the past, it was common for winners to brag and losers to lick their bitterness. However, from now on, we are entering an era in which the winners bow to the losers and help the losers.
However, this does not mean that companies will stop competing and not try to win. The company should continue to grow stronger. We must aim to survive by winning the competition. But from now on, the more you win, the stronger you become, the more humble you must be.
Companies must polish themselves to become more attractive. If the world's measure of attractiveness changes, the path that companies should take will also change.
Be strong as you embark on your new path. Let's move forward brightly. Pursue profits and aim to gain a good reputation and high evaluation. Be a good greedy one that is both profitable and sustainable.
When in doubt, choose something your employees will enjoy and be absorbed in.
When conducting business activities, do not forget to be grateful to the earth, to people, and to resources.
And let's aim to be a company that is appreciated by all of them.
