March 2023 13th issue: Review the words you use

Review the words you use. Try to use good words. Whether or not your likeability for you increases depends on the words you use. Good things happen when you use good words. If you use bad words, bad things will happen. The words you use have more impact than you think. Words spoken outward bounce back to you. Words have spiritual power. Be careful how you use them.

March 2023 13th issue: Review the words you use

For example, if you are the manager of a company and a new employee who joined your company said:
"This company has low salaries, no one knows about it, and it's a third-rate company."
As a manager, how do you feel when you hear these words from a new employee?
You will probably have a bad impression of the new employee. You may hate the new employee, feel hateful, and your relationship may deteriorate.
"Don't be selfish. You're impertinent."
"If you hate this company so much, you can quit."
Some managers would say such things out of anger. Some managers may use fear to silence their employees and prevent them from complaining in the first place.
However, this is not a fundamental solution. In fact, new hires may not be wrong when they say that the salary is low and that they are a third-rate company that no one knows about. When management sees a complaining employee as a problem, management tries to silence them. However, if the current state of the company is such a problem that employees can't keep quiet and complain, then you shouldn't just try to silence the employees but work on improving the current state of the company.
If you are a manager and a new employee says, "This company has low salaries, no one knows about it, and it's a third-rate company," how about responding as follows?
"I see, then let's all work together to transform it into a company that pays good salaries, is well-known, and is called a first-rate company. If you have any good suggestions for what we should do, tell me anytime."
In this way, new employees will think of managers as "motivated and open-minded." Also, you may be positive about your feelings, saying, "I can't just complain, I'll proactively make good suggestions."
New hires behave differently depending on what words managers use. Whether the manager's reply is "Don't be selfish" or "If you have a good proposal, tell me anytime", the future behavior of the new employee may come out as much as heaven and hell.
The words you use have more impact than you think. The words of a manager can change the future of an entire company. When reviewing management, it is important to look at financial figures and review personnel assignments, but it is equally important for managers themselves to review the words they use.
If you are a person who supervise others, let alone a manager, you must be very careful about how you use words.
