March 2023 2nd issue: Does the manager have a management philosophy?
The management philosophy here clarifies who the company is and what it does for. In general, it is sometimes called corporate philosophy or management philosophy, and it is often classified into three: the mission of the company in society, the future vision that the company should aim for, and the value that the company provides. It is said that it is important for corporate managers to have a clear corporate philosophy and to clearly articulate it.
If managers do not have a management philosophy, the company will lose cohesion and direction, and it will be difficult to be seen as a valuable entity in society. If employees do not give detailed instructions, they will not know what they should aim for in their work, and it will be difficult to gain the trust of customers.
When a manager expresses a management philosophy, it means clarifying the existence and purpose of the company. As a company, it becomes easier to be united, the direction is clear, and the value of its existence increases. Employees will be able to understand the direction they should go without detailed instructions, and it will be easier to increase customer trust and brand image.
Times change. With the changing times, there are times when we have no choice but to change our management philosophy. However, there are some aspects of management philosophy that should not be changed even if the times change. Managers must think carefully about what should be changed and what should not be changed.
Management philosophy also plays an important role in communication between managers and employees, between companies and customers, and between companies and the social environment. Managers should clarify a solid management philosophy and thoroughly instill it in employees and customers. In addition, it is important to steadily proceed with management based on this philosophy so as not to betray the people around us.
