April 2024 4th: Emphasis on the actual site/genbutsu

Let's focus on the actual situation. Only by going to the site and seeing the actual product can you make the right decision. The impression you get from hearing about it and actually seeing it is very different. Even if you are unable to go to the site yourself, send someone to the site and get the opinion of someone who has seen the actual product. Especially when making business decisions, you should not make decisions based on the opinions of people who have not been to the site or seen the actual product. By emphasizing the actual situation, you can prevent mistakes in management decisions.

Management tips are hidden in the field. Many effective ideas are born in the field. What happens on-site reflects the essence of business. When a business problem arises, it is dangerous to make decisions without seeing the actual situation. Dissatisfaction and anxiety among frontline workers may pose a risk to future management. Management that does not focus on the field will decline.
When you go to see the site, don't just walk by it aimlessly. Check whether the points to be managed are clear, whether the environment is easy to work in, whether the workers' expressions are cheerful, and whether important points are easy to see.
For the on-site supervisors, we have provided information on what happened over the past month, including how we listen to concerns and complaints from workers and how we respond to them, where troubles occur and what countermeasures we take. Let's ask them if they have made any improvements.
If there is not a single example of improvement, there is a high possibility that the on-site supervisor has not made the improvements that should have been made.
When you go to the site, take a close look at the actual item. Is the quality stable? Are defective product inspections conducted appropriately? What action do you take if a defect occurs? Are you making any efforts or improvements to prevent defects from occurring in the first place?
Let's talk to the workers on site. Do workers understand the scope of their work responsibilities? Do you know what to do if something goes wrong? Do you have any concerns or concerns about communicating with your boss? Are you highly motivated to work? Do the company's management philosophy and business goals permeate each worker?
You can obtain a lot of important information by visiting the site and seeing the actual item. From the perspective of preventing mistakes in management decisions, focus on the actual situation.
