Home --- Topics --- August 2024 Part 2: "Being Right" and "Standing Out"
"Doing the right thing" and "standing out" are different. Doing the right thing does not necessarily make you popular. In order to stand out, you may need to do something a little unique, something different from others, something that goes against conventional social norms. Just doing the right thing according to common sense will not make you stand out or gain popularity. That being said, if you ignore common sense and continue to do things that are socially wrong, you may attract criticism and slander.
Popularity doesn't come from just doing the right things, but it doesn't come from just doing things that stand out.
The ideal situation is to appear to be doing things that stand out on the surface, but in reality you are steadily doing the right things without anyone noticing.
It stands out, but it's not just frivolous. It's deep and has substance. If that's the case, it's easier to build a fanbase.
It is important to do the right thing consistently. At the same time, it is also important to stand out. Neither can be overlooked; they are the two most important wheels in business.
