December 2024 Part 2: When asking someone for a favor

The results of business can vary greatly between people who are good at asking for favors and those who are not. People who are not good at asking for favors will not be successful in life, including business. On the other hand, people who are good at asking for favors tend to have smoother work and personal lives. So, what should you be careful of when asking others for favors? What is the difference between people who are good at asking for favors and those who are not?

December 2024 Part 2: When asking someone for a favor

People who are good at asking for things do so in a way that makes the other person want to accept the request.
On the other hand, people who have difficulty asking for things well end up asking in a way that makes the other person want to refuse.
What's important is the other person's psychology. The other person's feelings are more important than the content or difficulty of the request. If you want to ask someone for a favor, it's important to build up their feelings so that they want to accept.
Be careful not to ask in a way that makes the other person feel resentful.
However, that doesn't mean you have to go out of your way to bow down and obsequiously behave.
The key point when asking someone for a favor is to ask in a way that makes the other person want to accept. Try to think of ways to make the other person want to accept, such as the order in which you speak, the way you explain, and the use of facial expressions.
One thing to pay attention to is the other person's psychological state. How you ask will change depending on the other person's psychological state. Sometimes it's better to ask politely and humbly, but sometimes it's counterproductive. Sometimes it's more effective to ask in a hurry and make them hurry, but sometimes it's counterproductive. Sometimes asking in a commanding tone will work, but sometimes it will fail. There is no one right way to ask.
Asking for something is, so to speak, a psychological game. Observe the other person carefully and try to find out what kind of request will be effective.
