Home --- Topics --- December 2024 Part 3: How you look
Be aware of how you look. How do the people around you see you? What impression do you give to people you meet for the first time? Are you able to make a strong impact on people? If possible, you want others to have a good impression of you, but it's okay if they have a bad impression of you. The worst thing is to make a weak impression and not be remembered. Be aware of how you look and make efforts to leave a strong impression.
Stand out. Stand out so much that people think you're a little strange or weird. It doesn't matter if someone says, "I can't like people like you," just stand out. In any case, make an effort to stand out when you meet other people.
It's not good to be thought of as an ordinary person, an insignificant person, an plain person like everyone else. The worst thing you can do is not to leave an impression. Make sure you don't be neglected.
When I say "putting effort into it," I don't mean doing something unnatural and uncharacteristic of yourself.
We want others to have a good impression of us, and we want to be seen in a good light, if possible. However, when this feeling becomes too strong, we tend to wear a "mental mask" that is not our true self. If we try to force ourselves to appear someone we are not, we end up behaving unnaturally. This unnaturalness is somehow conveyed to others, and they feel a strong sense of incompatibility.
Be aware of how you look. Make an effort to stand out. At the same time, try not to behave unnaturally so that the other person doesn't feel uncomfortable. Just be yourself and show your true self.
People who are good at presenting themselves are more likely to succeed in the world. Ask various people how you look, get hints for improvement, and work on how to present yourself.
