Home --- Topics --- June 2024, Part 7: About the recommended dish "Borsch" at Ukrainian restaurant "Zhyto"
Ukrainian restaurant Zhyto opened on May 15th at Wink Aichi near Nagoya Station. This is the first restaurant in Nagoya where you can enjoy authentic Ukrainian cuisine. The recommended dish at Zhyto is borsch, a Ukrainian dish registered as an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO. At Zhyto, you can enjoy authentic borsch made by a Ukrainian chef.
How many Japanese people have tried the authentic Ukrainian dish "borsch"? Even if there are a certain number of people who have tried "borsch," there are probably not many Japanese people who have tried "borsch," a Ukrainian dish registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Some people may be hesitant to eat borsch because of its red color, saying things like, "I don't like tomatoes," or "Isn't this really spicy?"
Although Ukrainian borsch is red in color, it does not contain a lot of tomatoes or spices. Rather, maybe it is best described as a vegetable soup that makes the most of the natural flavors of the ingredients.
Ukrainian cuisine "Borsch" can be said to be the center of Ukrainian food culture. Japanese people who try it for the first time may find it "unexpected taste."
Why not go to the Ukrainian restaurant "Zhyto" and try the Ukrainian dish "Borsch"?
