Home --- Topics --- November 2024 Part 4: Great leaders are great hypnotists
A good leader attracts people. When a good leader speaks, people listen intently. People believe the words of a good leader and have hope for the future that the leader points to. A good leader can unite a team just by being there. If people say, "That person attracts people as if they were hypnotized," that is how good a leader he is. If you want to gain widespread support as a leader and achieve good results, you need to become a good hypnotist.
What do you think are the qualities required of a leader? What abilities do you think a leader needs?
Many people say that the qualities required of a leader are decisiveness, flexibility, and the ability to take action. Others say the ability to listen to others, the ability to bring out people's potential, and the ability to consult with others and resolve their concerns. Some may even say the ability to predict the future or read other people's minds.
However, humans are not all-rounders. It is a mistake to expect a leader to have all sorts of abilities. Also, if a leader is too skilled and tries to do everything, the abilities of the team members may not be developed.
Some people even say that it's better for a leader not to be highly competent. Rather than a highly competent leader who decides everything on his/her own, a leader who asks for help from those around him/her will attract more talented people and make people more motivated to work. Indeed, I think that in many cases, a team will work better if the leader is someone who relies on others, rather than someone who decides everything on his/her own.
What's important is whether the team can come together, rather than whether the leader is competent.
The quality required of a good leader is the ability to attract people. The ability to hypnotize people so that team members trust the leader and the leader's presence brings the team together.
If you want to be widely supported as a leader and achieve good results, you should develop your charm rather than your own abilities. Review your way of speaking, behavior, and grooming. And hone your charm to attract others to the point where they say, "That person is like a hypnotist."
