2013 New constitution introduced
2014 45 Fiji peacekeepers are taken hostage in Syria's Golan Heights. Prime Minister Bainimarama wins the general election. Commonwealth reinstated Fiji membership. 45 peacekeepers are released. Fiji named as the happiest country in the world
