Road to World Peace --- Discrimination and its Essence

Discrimination and its Essence

Discrimination is a distinction, and it refers to making a difference in service and treatment. People get what they do. There will be good rewards for those who do good, and bad rewards for those who do bad. It may be natural to discriminate between those who have done good deeds and those who have done bad deeds. However, sometimes people are treated unreasonably and receive unfair discrimination. In such a case, people tend to resent discrimination itself and hate the person who discriminated against them. Discrimination causes resentment and hatred in people's hearts.

Discrimination and its Essence

Discrimination is a distinction, a difference in treatment and treatment. Discrimination is necessary for society, and discrimination itself is not evil. Without discrimination, society would become chaotic, good and hardworking people would suffer, and society itself would decline and eventually collapse. In order to maintain social order and develop society, society must discriminate appropriately and justly.
However, if inappropriate and unjust discrimination becomes rampant in society, it becomes a big problem. For example, in a country where people with different ideas from the ruler are purged more and more, there is no freedom of speech, and people are discriminated against just because they have different ideas from the ruler. In some cases, even if the person claims to have the same idea as the ruler, the ruler thinks "Let's purge this guy" due to slander or informant, and the ruler will be purged and discriminated against.
The ruler is not necessarily an individual, and even in a democratic country, the majority of the people may decide policies that allow unfair discrimination, depending on the opinions of the time and the trends of the times. It is not uncommon for discrimination, which can only be described as abnormal when considered calmly, to be endorsed by trends that are easily swept away by the times.
Justifiable discrimination is necessary in society. There is a reason and a purpose for society to discriminate. The reason and purpose for society to discriminate is to maintain social order and develop society. In order to maintain social order and develop society, society must discriminate appropriately and justly within the limits that fairly restrict human rights. If social order is not maintained, society will collapse, and if society does not develop, society will gradually decline. A society without discrimination means a society that collapses.
Justifiable discrimination is necessary in society. However, unfair discrimination is harmful to society and must be eliminated. If unfair discrimination is rampant, social order will be disturbed and society will decline. Justifiable discrimination and unfair discrimination can be distinguished by whether it maintains the order of society as a whole, develops society, and makes the people who make up society richer and happier. If social order is protected and society develops by eliminating a certain discrimination, it should be eliminated. Conversely, if eliminating discrimination would disrupt social order and hinder social development, it should not be eliminated.
The standards for judging good and bad change with society and with the times. As the times change, societal norms of right and wrong change, and so does the criteria for judging discrimination. Also, even among people of the same age who live in the same society, the judgment criteria differ depending on the older generation and the younger generation, male and female, region, race, social status, and educational background. In some cases, there may be conflicts about the judgment standards in society.
There are people who intentionally create points of contention and points of discussion and make a fuss about "discrimination!" The act of making a fuss about something that cannot be called discrimination as discrimination, or making a fuss about legitimate discrimination necessary for social order and social development as if it were unfair discrimination, may have aimed at the collapse of society. It may be sabotage. We must be wary of people who make a fuss about things that don't really need to be fussed about. They may seek to disrupt society by making noise, to divide society, and to profit from social unrest and conflict. Discrimination can become a political issue in elections or a major issue in the Ideological Struggles. In particular, people who are steeped in fundamentalist thought try to impose their tyrannical ideas on others by brandishing the word discrimination. They also try to attack people who are silent by saying things like, "If you don't speak out against discrimination, you're the same as people who discriminate!" Such people are working for the collapse of social order and the decline of society, brandishing the word "discrimination" earnestly.
The psychology of the discriminator includes disgust, contempt, and hatred for being betrayed. You don't want to be with someone you hate, and you don't want to be seen as a kind of person you despise. If discrimination is caused by hatred and contempt, criticizing only the discriminatory act and trying to stop it will not be a fundamental solution. It is important to find out why you feel disgust and why you want to despise it, and to eliminate it and prevent the feeling of disgust and contempt from occurring in the first place. To that end, it is necessary not only for those who discriminate, but also for those who are discriminated against to reflect and change their remarks and actions. If the discriminated side does not make efforts to eliminate discrimination, discrimination will not be resolved easily. Discrimination can also occur because you feel “betrayed.” People who don't keep their promises and people who can't be trusted may be discriminated against in society. However, you may feel that you have been betrayed by the one-sided assumptions of the discriminator. In such a case, there is a problem with the assumptions of the discriminating side.
As for the psychology of those who have been discriminated against, along with a sense of inferiority, resentment, hatred, or envy toward the discriminating side may occur. Discrimination itself is not the cause of resentment, hatred, or envy. Even if people are not unfairly discriminated against, they still have feelings of resentment, hatred, or envy. The problem is how the discriminated side perceives discrimination psychologically. Society will become unstable if feelings of resentment, hatred, or envy on the part of those being discriminated against are amplified. If we are aiming for social stability and development, regardless of whether the discrimination is justified or unfair, we must pay attention to the psychology of those who are being discriminated against, and prevent resentment, hatred, or envy from growing.

Benevolence and Virtuousness

Why is it that there are so many conflicts in the world that it is difficult for the world to move toward peace? Isn't it a major cause of conflict in the world that people are self-centered and easily harbor jealousy, hatred, and resentment? In order not to create a cause for conflict, it is first necessary to change the minds of self-centered people. It is very important to get rid of bad feelings, have a heart of benevolence that sympathizes with people, and have a heart of virtue, which is the power of character that makes people admire them, in order to eliminate conflicts.

Peace of Mind

The world will not be peaceful if people are plagued by anxiety and fear. In order for the world to live in peace, it is necessary for people to be able to spend their days peacefully and calmly, free from anxiety and fear. Peace of mind is also important for social stability. It is very important and valuable that many people can live their daily lives peacefully and peacefully. To achieve peace of mind, we must eliminate the causes of anxiety and fear.

Education for Peace

In order to realize and maintain peace, it is important to educate for peace. In order to realize world peace, it is important not only to receive education for peace, but also to disseminate that education. Education for peace needs to be not only easy to understand, but also more effective and easier to implement, and at the same time easier to buy into and disseminate. An education that provokes resistance from the people, or that creates conflicts when it fails to gain approval, is far from peace.

Developmental Disabilities and How to Deal with Them

People who do not adapt well to society may drop out, or may harbor a grudge against society and engage in destructive behavior. Maybe it's a developmental disability. Developmental disorders can make it difficult for people to communicate well with those around them, and they may suffer from each other. Left unchecked, communication can lead to rifts, conflicts, and even serious conflicts in relationships. Maybe we need to understand more about developmental disorders and know how to respond appropriately.

Ideological Struggles

Ideology is a collection of conceptual ideas based on political and economic systems. Ideologies are ideals and fantasies separated from reality, and are therefore seen as strong beliefs at the same time. For those who strongly believe in an idea, people who disagree with it are often seen as enemies. Therefore, it is said that ideology gives birth to conflict and causes war and social unrest. The problem is that having an ideology as a belief tends to develop into an aggressive mentality that tries to exclude others.

Views on Religion

Religion refers to doctrines centered on beliefs and rituals in some sacred and absolute things. Religions sometimes have a strong influence on people's minds, and as a result, in some cases, people who believe in religions behave abnormally socially, and conflicts between religions intensify, leading to wars. Religion can help or hinder world peace. If possible, I would like religion to work on people's hearts so that it can help world peace rather than stir up conflicts.

Prayer

Prayer means making a request to the gods. If all the people in the world wished for world peace and prayed to the gods and buddhas, perhaps world peace could soon be realized. If there are no exclusive people who want to attack others immediately, and more people who face the gods and buddhas with honesty and straightly and devote their hearts to prayers, conflicts and confrontations may decrease. If having a heart of prayer has the power to change the world, then by all means many people should have a heart of prayer.

Information and Agitation

"Information" refers to notifications about the situation, actual circumstances, and course of events when an incident occurs. Incitement is the act of persuading others to do something. Information is often fragmented, discontinuous, and incomplete. In some cases, intentionally biased information or incorrect information may be circulated. Intentionally biased or incorrect information can lead to riots, disturbances, and even wars. Also, even if the information itself is not grossly wrong, people who are incited to use it may behave abnormally.

Human Rights

Human rights are rights that humans are born with. Human rights are given to all people when they are born. However, in many cases, people live under the constraints of the environment in which they were born and raised. Human rights are not necessarily protected equally for all human beings. However, if human rights are unfairly restricted by the state or society, it is a big problem. Human rights should be protected as long as necessary. Unfair restrictions on human rights must be eliminated as much as possible.

Conspiracies and Conspiracy Theories

A conspiracy is a secret scheme. There are people in the world who pretend to be good people while plotting bad schemes behind the scenes. Conspiracies are planned and carried out without people's knowledge. However, once a conspiracy is exposed, it ceases to be a conspiracy. The problem is that when something goes wrong in society, there are people who make a fuss about it as someone's conspiracy. So-called conspiracy theories are used to provoke social unrest by declaring certain people to be the bad guys.

Eliminating the Causes of Conflict and Unhappiness

When conflicts and conflicts intensify in society, many people become unhappy. Conflicts and people's misfortunes occur because of some cause. If we can eliminate the causes of people's conflicts and fights, and the causes of people's unhappiness, we should be able to reduce conflicts and people's unhappiness. Short-sightedly pushing the responsibility onto someone else or destroying and denying society itself will not be a fundamental solution. You need to find out the root cause and learn how to eliminate it.

the Idea of Harmony

Harmony means being friendly and friendly. The spirit of harmony is to have no strife, hostility, or hatred. The idea of harmony is to eliminate the causes of conflict and unhappiness by everyone getting along with each other and mixing various things in the right amount. The philosophy of harmony has the depth to incorporate everything without being exclusive or biased. In the philosophy of harmony, people are not persuaded to believe in one correct answer, and they respect their autonomy while accepting various ideas. With the idea of harmony at the center, people's minds and society are organized and softened.

Overcoming Worldly Desires

Worldly desires are small, fleeting thoughts and dreams. Dreaming is never a bad thing. Many people have dreams, set goals to make them come true, and work hard to reach those goals. Dreams make the world go round. Dreams can change the world for the better or for the worse. Achieving one dream does not necessarily make a person happy. Also, many people feel resentment and envy toward others when their dreams are not realized.
