Ichinomiya city is located in the northwest part of Owari area. The name of the city -Ichinomiya - has arrived because there is Masumida Shrine, which is the first shrine (Ichi-no-Miya) of Owari nation. The Kiso River flows from the northern part of the city to the west, and it is in contact with Gifu prefecture. It was once a major center of the spinning and textile industry, but now the aspect as a bed town to Nagoya is getting stronger.
It is a charming area characterized by the history and culture brought up with the nature of the Kiso River.
