Nagoya Castle is a castle in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture. It is Hirashiro(a castle built on a flat ground) that collected the best of castle technology of the Warring States period.
Many buildings were destroyed by the Second World War, but a move towards restoration is underway.
It is full of attractions such as the Honmaru Palace, the garden, and the castle tower. In the castle, various flowers bloom throughout the seasons, but spring cherry blossoms are especially popular.
Nagoya Castle East Gate is about 300 meters northwest of Shiyakusho Subway Station, about a 4-minute walk. Also, the main gate of Nagoya Castle is about 1 km north of Marunouchi Subway Station, about a 13-minute walk.
