Tenri city is a religious and cultural city located in the northern part of Nara prefecture. It is a rare city in the whole country bearing the name of a religious organization, and the city has the headquarters of Tenrikyo church. Tenrikyo is a religion established by Miki Nakayama in 1838, and at that time it was raised as a big religious group though it had been suppressed.
There are many historical sites in Tenri city which has produced great people since ancient times, traditional festivals have been inherited, and for those who seek out touch of the heart it is a tasty place.
