For that purpose, samurai studies day by day, and is training hard. Some people say the family of samurai is pleased if the samurai dies in a war. Because he dedicated he life to the lord, he had been practicing for this day so far, so the family should be glad that he died greatly.
In the war, such ideas are thoroughly used. The soldiers are forced to do the spirit of Bushido, and are driven to an unreasonable battlefield with no weapons, no straightforward strategy, no tactics.
No parents are pleased to hear their child's death. If there were parents who were happy when their child dies, they are not parents.
If there is no affection and bonds between parents and children, how can the Bushido spirit grow up?
At the root of the Bushido spirit, there definitely is affection of parents and children.

There is a proverb says, "a samurai's word is sacred." This means a samurai who respects honor and hates the treachery never goes back on his word. And he will always execute what he said. If he cannot execute what he said, he will take responsibility. That is Seppuku.

Samurai respects the God and Buddha. In fact, many people die on the battlefield. If you are a soldier, you may kill people or you may be killed in a war. Human life is a fleeting one. So samurai needs to cherish the life.
