Matsumae Castle

Address: Matsushiro Matsumae-cho
The present castle tower was rebuilt in 1961 due to the wish of the townspeople and the good will of the whole country.

Special historic site Goryokaku ruins

Address: Hakodate-shi Goryokaku-cho 44
Designed by Rangaku-sha Takeda Hisaburo who received the order of the Tokugawa shogunate, the first Japanese Western castle completed in 1864 is Goryokaku.

Akabira Tokugawa Castle

Address: 174 Horooka cho, Akabira, Hokkaido
It was a puppet maker store named Puppet Studio Tokugawa Castle, but apparently it seems that the manufacturer is bankrupt and not operating.

Yonnemoto Chashi Ruins

Address: Yunemoto, Nemuro City, Hokkaido
Chashi was also a place to do battle fortifications, as well as a place to conduct talks and rituals with neighboring tribes.

Tate Castle Ruins

Address: 1 of 234 Shinmachi, Assabu-cho, Hiyama-gun, Hokkaido
The Tate castle ruins are the last Japanese style castle built during the turbulent period of the Edo period.
