1912 Balkan War. Serbia regains control of Kosovo from Turkey
1918 Kosovo becomes part of the Kingdom of Serbia
1941 Most of Kosovo becomes part of Italian-dominated Greater Albania
1974 Yugoslav Constitution recognizes Kosovo autonomy
1981 Separatist uprising and military suppression
1990 Yugoslavia disbands the Kosovo government and moves to strip it of its autonomy. Mass layoffs and massive general strikes
