It is a country occupying the eastern part of the Scandinavian Peninsula in Northern Europe, bordered by Finland, the Gulf of Bothnia and the Baltic Sea to the east, and Norway to the north and west. It is connected to Denmark by bridges and tunnels through the Ore Strait. It shares maritime borders with Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia (enclaves), Poland, Germany and Denmark.
