Kharkiv is the second largest city in the country located in the northeastern part of Ukraine and is Ukraine's main cultural, scientific, educational, transport and industrial center. We will feature information that seems good to know when advancing to Kharkiv.
It is a low-lying city on the banks of the confluence of the Kharkiv, Lopan and Udi rivers. It is located about 40km south of the Russian border and about 460km east of Kyiv.
Winters are long and cold with lots of snow. Summers are dry and hot. The average temperature is about 20degC in summer and -4degC in winter.
The 2014 statistics are about 1.43 million.
