Ibaraki prefecture is located in the northeast of the Kanto region which occupies almost the center of the Japanese archipelago. In the northern part of the prefecture the mountains are covered and the plains are spreading from the central part to the southwestern part. The southeastern part is a water district with Kasumigaura - the second largest lake in Japan.
Ibaraki prefecture is rich in nature, has agricultural areas, fishing ports, history and culture, and sports are active. Ibaraki prefecture is an attractive area for travelers.
