Castles in Ibaraki

We are investigating and introducing castles in Ibaraki prefecture. The castles were built as fortresses of the Warring States era and as strategic bases. We will post popular castles in Ibaraki Prefecture.

Castles in Ibaraki

Tsuchiura castle

Tsuchiura City. Currently the part of Honmaru and Ninomaru is maintained as Kijo Park.

Oda castle

Tsukuba City. It is known as Mr. Oda 's castle which has made its forces in this region.

Mito Castle Ruins

Mito city. It is a residence of the Mito Tokugawa family, one of the Tokugawa three families.

Toyoda Castle

Joso City. Joso City area community exchange center is a 7 floor exhibition hall opened in 1992.

Kasama Castle Ruins

Kasama city. Kasama Castle is known as Mr. Kasama's residence.

Shimotsuma castle (Tagaya castle)

Shimotsuma city. It is also called Tagaya castle because it was a castle of Mr. Tagaya once.

Daiho Castle Ruins

Shimotsuma city. The castle remains as it is today in the precincts of Daiho Hachimangu Shrine.

Koma Castle Ruins

Shimotsuma city. At the castle of the Northern and Southern Dynasties, there is a monument of "Castle Ruins" in the northwestern part of the castle, 120 meters east and west, 180 meters north and south.

Sakasai Castle

Bando city. Sakasai castle is a castle built by Sakasai Tsunemune, known as Mr. Sakasai's castle.

Makabe Castle

Sakuragawa City. Mr. Makabe's castle ruled over Makabe and Yamato in medieval era.

Tsukiore Castle

Kuji-gun Daigo-machi. There was a Tsukiore castle on the summit of Tsukiore-mountain at an altitude of 404 m.

Yuki Castle

Yuki city. Yuuki Castle is known as Mr. Yuuki's residence.
