We are investigating and introducing castles in Tochigi prefecture. The castles were built as fortresses of the Warring States era and as strategic bases. We will post popular castles in Tochigi Prefecture.
Tochigi City. It is a mountain castle with an altitude of 147 meters, and is also called "Horagai castle" from the shape of the mountain.
Sano City. Karasawayama Castle Ruins spread to Karasawayama area in the southern part of Tochigi Prefecture, and the altitude of Mountaintopomaru has 242 m.
Kaminokawa town, Kawachi gun. Kamisugawa Castle is a castle built by Yokota Yoshinari, the second son of Utsunomiya Yoritsuna.
Ohtawara City. Currently it is a sightseeing of cherry-blossom viewing as Ryujo Park. In addition, there are remnants of the castle town, such as a curved road, around the castle.
Motegi-cho, Haga-gun. The place where Motegi castle was built in the Kamakura period is now a symbolic park in Motegi town.
Ohtawara City. Currently the foundations of the castle are preserved soil base, sky moat, water moat and so on, leaving behind-the-scenes at that time.
Utsunomiya City. Historical buildings such as towers (yagura) and exhibition facilities are open from 9 am to 7 pm
Nasu - cho, Nasu - gun. Cherry blossoms are splendid in spring.
