Departure from Europeanism and Return to Japaneseization Theory --- Departure from Europeanism --- Free Market

Free Market

A free market is a market based on liberal ideology. Liberalism is a principle that respects the free rights and voluntary activities of individuals as much as possible and tries not to be controlled by the state. It is said that it is efficient and produces the maximum profit because transactions are actively carried out by people's free will and spontaneity. The free market is where individuals trade on a daily basis for their own benefit.

Free Market

The free market is also a market in which the best of the best is competing. While everyone is free to compete in the market, they are gradually divided into winners and losers. The winners consolidate their capital and monopolize information to gain even more monopoly power in the market. The free market is also a market where the gap between the haves and the have-nots tends to widen.
In the free market, there will be people who will scheme to make money by cheating. The free market should always be monitored to prevent unfair trading. In some cases, large capitalists, politicians, and other people with powerful capital and power may commit fraud and distort the free market itself.
Free markets don't always make many people in a nation happy and prosperous. When the market prices of food and other daily necessities are soaring, there is a risk that the lives of the general public will be put under pressure unless the government restricts such acts as hoarding. In emergencies, free market distribution may cease and state distribution may become necessary.
While the free market is said to be excellent in adjusting supply and demand and maximizing profits, it is also a market that is prone to problems. The free market requires state surveillance and intervention, but on the other hand, if there is too much surveillance and intervention, the precious freedom will be lost. How the market should be reviewed so that the majority of people in the country can live richly and happily is a major issue in managing the national economy.
