Departure from Europeanism and Return to Japaneseization Theory --- Departure from Europeanism --- Repression and Violence

Repression and Violence

Repression means to hold back forcefully. Violence is a lawless and destructive attack. Repression and violence are tools of governance that states often use to keep people from saying or doing whatever they please. On the other hand, revolutionaries and rebels who rebel against the state also use repression and violence. As conflicts and animosity grow in society, oppression and violence run rampant.

Repression and Violence

A reign of oppression and violence may appear to be making things safer. However, in an oppressed society, people's dissatisfaction and stress accumulate, and the whole society gradually becomes distorted. In a society where the state uses violence to suppress people, people's resentment and hatred grow.
In a situation where people's dissatisfaction and stress accumulate and society as a whole becomes sick, and people's resentment and hatred grow and you don't know when you will be involved in violence, you cannot feel safe and secure your daily life. You will not be able to live your life.
A nation must govern its people and maintain public order. The use of repression and violence as tools of governance is to some extent necessary. There are outlaws who commit crimes and those who try to agitate people with malice, so we must crack down on them or prevent them. The use of repression and violence by state power is to punish the bad guys and let the good people live in peace.
However, sometimes states use coercion and violence excessively. A society in which many people are oppressed and suppressed by violence due to the tyranny of those in power is a misfortune.
Repression and violence are not the only means by which states govern their people. In order to create a happy and developing society, it is important that the state does not rely too much on repression and violence.
