Departure from Europeanism and Return to Japaneseization Theory --- Return to Japaneseization --- Altruism

Altruism

Altruism means saving people's hearts by giving them merits. Having an altruistic heart is to save people's hearts, not just to give alms. If the person receiving the charity takes it for granted, boasts about it to others, or asks for more charity, it may be better not to give charity. Because then the heart of the person who received the alms would not be saved.

Altruism

Altruism is not simply sacrificing one's own interests to serve the interests of others. There may be no reward for serving others' interests if selfish people just use them for their own convenience. Giving to others with an altruistic heart is to save the heart of the recipient.
To save the heart of a person who receives alms means that he/she will also have an "altruistic heart." As long as that person is just selfish and thinks, "If I'm good, it is OK" no amount of charity will save that person. No matter how much alms you receive, you will not be freed from the pain of jealousy and possessiveness.
By learning to have an altruistic heart, you will come to realize how insignificant the jealousy and possessiveness that has been tormenting you until now. When you let go of the selfish thoughts you've been clinging to, suddenly you feel at ease. I wonder how clouded my feelings have been until now. Liberation of the mind is "salvation".
The important thing about altruism is to be considerate of the feelings of the person to whom you are giving. Whether the donation itself brings good results or bad results depends on the feelings of the person receiving the donation and how it changes. It is true that we should consider the feelings of others and give them at a time when it is easy for them to awaken to the spirit of altruism.
