Departure from Europeanism and Return to Japaneseization Theory --- Return to Japaneseization --- Japanese Education
Harmonious education means education that emphasizes diversity, autonomy, and cooperativeness. Japanese education respects acceptance of different cultures, absorption of various ideas, and independent learning. We also teach and encourage each other to move forward. There, educators must also learn and grow together. They love each other with their students and encourage each other to improve themselves.
Education is to teach and nurture. We educate people to encourage them to learn and grow themselves. People are incomplete until they die, and they have to keep learning all their lives. This is because if people stop learning, they will stop growing and wither away.
There is no single truth or justice, and individual values are vague and differ from person to person. There are probably more than a few people who believe in school education and go out into society and feel a contradiction. It may not be unreasonable to think that school education is wrong.
You may think that school education is wrong because you feel that you rely too much on teacher-led, textbook-based education. Certainly, it may not be very good to just unilaterally instill values that are written in textbooks or that teachers think are correct.
Of course, schooling is important. Especially when knowledge is poor and wisdom does not work, you must know the meaning and importance of learning. The textbooks contain a lot of correct and important information, and the teachers are very knowledgeable and know how to solve problems. Rather than thinking about this and that on your own, reading a textbook and having a teacher teach you will probably get you to the correct answer quickly.
But what should you do when you go out into the world and face problems? In society, there are no specific teachers or fixed textbooks. In order to solve the problems you face in society, you have to collect information, find people with knowledge and wisdom, think for yourself and tackle the problems. There is no single solution to the same problem. Diversity must be recognized in society.
In order to learn about diversity, it is effective to receive education from multiple teachers with different values, from people who are not teachers, or from overseas, rather than being educated by one teacher all the time. Instead of just studying according to a single textbook, it is a good idea to use various materials, articles, papers, etc., and think about what you can learn from them. In order to encourage autonomy and cooperation, we need to stimulate students' curiosity and give them tasks that they can work together to achieve some result. At the same time, it is important for teachers to learn by themselves and to show that teachers cooperate with each other.
It is important not only to coordinate and cooperate well with others, but also to learn how to get others to cooperate. Japanese education is also an education that refines organizational skills. Learn together, teach together. In this way, mutual growth is the essence of Japanese education.
